About Us

The building is set out over two floors. Upstairs is our baby room, toddlers are based in our converted ground floor barn, when the children reach 3 years old they move into our pre-school located on the ground floor. All our children follow the Early Years Foundation stages of learning, they follow a carefully planned transition period from room to room. We have free-flow outside play areas. The nursery is open Monday to Friday 7.30am - 6.30pm including breakfast, lunch, snacks and tea.

We know that a successful relationship between parents and carer’s fosters a positive nursery experience for everyone. We encourage a continuous flow of communication between both parents and the nursery. You can keep updated with what happens at nursery via our in house display boards, website, Facebook page, Instagrammonthly newsletters, open sessions and parent’s information sessions. Each child has an online daily diary which we encourage parental and child contributions to so that we can learn about what you have been doing on a weekend and in holiday time, as well as us being able to share with you anything we feel you want/need to know. The nursery holds parent-key worker evenings at regular intervals through the year. Carers are also available every day for you to talk to.

About The Team

Rooftops Montessori Nursery School employs 15 members of qualified childcare staff in total, giving a higher than average child to carer ratio. Staff are qualified to Level 2 & 3 in Early Years and have several years’ childcare experience between them.

Hannah Hurley, Owner is a qualified nursery nurse, with over 15 years in the NHS as a Project Manager. She passionately believes in the Montessori philosophy of teaching and is extremely dedicated along with her team of experienced staff to delivering the principles of Montessori to children in a safe and nurturing environment. 

Cassie Luchford, Business Manager with over 20 years business experience, Cassie is responsible for the development of the nurseries, Finances, Marketing and HR. 

Debbie Kilburn, Nursery Manager is qualified to Level 4 in childcare with over 18 years’ experience working with children. She is very dedicated to the day to day smooth running of the nursery.

Baby Room - Rebecca (Deputy Manager and Room Leader), Ceira & Bethany are all Level 3 Childcare qualified. 

Toddler Room - Kim (Room Leader), & Leanne are Level 3 Childcare qualified & Jackie has over 20 years experience in childcare.

Pre-school Team - Sian (Room Leader) is Level 3 Childcare qualified and Montessori qualified and Erin is Level 3 Childcare qualified. 

 

We take students from the local school and college on work placements and support apprentices in training.
