ROOFTOPS NURSERY SCHOOL OPEN DAY 2017

a newly designed garden where the children grow their own vegetables, ride bikes, play ball games, their very own ‘Telly Tubby’ hill, Snuggles and Snowdrop the guinea pigs and an outdoor learning area.  A large baby room with separate sleeping areas, book corners and natural play areas provides home from home care with our warm, friendly and highly qualified nursery practitioners. ‘Everyone is welcome to the open day, we will be selling tea, coffee and cakes.  All proceeds will go to Macmillan Cancer Support’.

Rooftops Nursery are encouraging parents of 0-5 year olds to come and have a look around to ensure they can secure a place for their child from the Autumn term.

Rooftops Nursery in Queen’s Road, Richmond are also taking part in the Government led extended entitlement childcare scheme which has been developed to support working parents, parents looking to return to work or increase their hours.  The pilot scheme has been in action in various parts of the UK over the past year.  North Yorkshire County Council joined the pilot scheme in April this year with the official rollout UK wide from September 2017.

Nursery Owner, Hannah Hurley and working mother of two, commented “This is a fantastic scheme giving working parents the opportunity to get back into the workplace or increase their working hours with the increased funded childcare hours.  Currently parents of all three and four year olds receive 15 hours funded childcare, this scheme raises it to a possible 30 hours per week for working parents who meet the criteria”.

Hannah goes on to say “the scheme has been gratefully received by our parents who have been eager to sign up increasing their child’s attendance at nursery each week, so much so that we are completely fully booked for the summer term”.
