Dragonfly Room (Pre-school: 3-5)

In this room, our older children have an array of activities to explore in their own time and at their own pace.

Your child can re-enact home life in our family role-play area, focus on some arts and crafts or even have some downtime in our quiet area. There are opportunities to take part in community activities and our weekly dance class.

In preparation for school, the room is set up to allow for ongoing observation and assessment of the children within the three prime areas of learning: communication and language; physical development; and personal, social and emotional development. Plus there are four specific areas of learning: literacy; mathematics; understanding the world; and expressive arts and design.

We work closely with local schools to help make the transition from pre-school to nursery as smooth as possible for your child by facilitating visits from and to the school. We talk about school with your child to help them understand and process this big next step in their life.

The staff looking after your child in this room are: Room Leader Sian (Level 3 Childcare and Montessori qualified), Bethany and Erin (both Level 3 Childcare qualified)
